Our trip to the Great Northwest is coming to a close...I hate it!!!

Mar Mar and I decided to take Max on a Ferry boat ride: something I used to do regularly as a kid, since we had to ride one to get to my Grandma and Grandpa's house on the Peninsula. I thought Max would think it was magic. We drove to Edmonds, WA and while we waited for the ferry, we looked for crabs and starfish...but it was high tide...and threw rocks into the water---what fun!

We rode the Walla Walla ferry on the way to Kingston. Max liked watching the cars come on and off the boat on the ramp, the seagulls flying all over the place, splashing in the puddles on the top deck, playing in the holy strong wind at the head of the boat, and looking at the bubbles and wake that the huge boat made as we pulled away from the dock. oh...and the stupid arcade race car game inside (with no money in it, mind you).
In Kingston, our destination, we walked up to a little ice cream shop and got a Max a cone. he liked the ice cream part of it...but liked the cone more...we had to take the remainder of the ice cream out so he could devour the cone properly.

After a tough wait to get back on the ferry...they weren't moving fast enough for a two-year old, we got back on the Spokane ferry and rode back across. We went down into the belly of the ship to look at the cars and see the dock as we approached. Max was in ferry-boat-topia.
