The American Girl Store in LA

One fine afternoon, we heard the doorbell ring...when Ivy went to open the door, there sat her American Girl Doll that she received for her birthday with a little card in her lap...
It was an invitation to join her (Emily, her American Girl Doll) as well as Ivy's best friend, June and her American Girl Doll for a special just-for-girls lunch at the American Girl store in LA.
The girls were ecstatic!
{Ivy had no idea how cool this store was!...actually, even though I had an American Girl Doll when I was little, and I drooled over the magazine every time it came, I have never been to the store until now.  sigh}
Ivy's birthday is April 1st (turning 4) and June's birthday is May 7th (turning 5), so we wanted to celebrate their birthdays together...what better way!?
June and Ivy, Ivy and Emly (Yep, June's doll is named Ivy!, fun, huh?!)
Jillonnie and I whipped up matching skirts for the girls and their dolls the night before the big day...the girls were stoked to match their dolls!

The girls waiting for us to be seated...
What a cool place!  A 4-course meal, a special chair for the girls' dolls to sit on with tiny little plates and a cup.  Jillonnie brought super cute mini-sandwiches and french fries to stick on the plates for the dolls.  It was rad.
Ivy had her first Shirley Temple drink...it made her eyes cry. :)
After we ate lunch, the girls each got to pick 1 outfit for their dolls...
It was such a fun, special day to celebrate 2 sweet girl's birthdays

Scarlet is ONE!

April 2nd this sweet tiny girl turned 1!
The year flew by, and I guess maybe it's because she's not walking around yet, like the other kids were by now, but she still seems so little to me!  She's so sweet and fun.  She has the most darling laugh and smile and she is still just the best baby in the world.
oh, how I love her.
We had a rainbow party...with our neighbor friends.

We made lots of rainbow cupcakes to share with our friends, and just invited them over to eat cupcakes with Scarlet for her first time.  It was fun to hang out with my 'mom friends' while all of our kids just played in the grass at our house.
singing happy birthday to the big girl:
 mom...are you sure about this?
 She loved it...

Ivy is 4!

My favorite little 3 year old turned 4 today!
We got to have a cute little party at the park with some of her friends and shared Cotton Candy with all of them...
They had to have a ticket in order to get their treat:
it was a fun change from having cake and ice cream...and was the most simple party I've ever thrown!  I did nothing but set up a banner and put a tablecloth on...my awesome neighbors made the cotton candy and the kids played at the park... I kinda liked it!
sa-weet!

now on to Scarlet's birthday...
