A couple of my favorites!

{Max and Ivy} Max has been sick ever since we came home from the hospital, so we've sort of tried to keep him a little further away fron our sweet girl than we probably would have...but we had her pictures taken today, and tried to get the two of them together, so he got to hold Ivy for the first time. He's sort of not totally convinced that holding a baby is cool, but he's done it twice. So, here are a few of my favorite things...
Max is watching a show, so he won't look at the camera, but here are the updated pictures for today!

Easter Egg-cited

Easter is coming...and I was sad that I didn't have any decorations. So, even though Ivy was born...during my late-night feedings, I've been perusing blogs and scheming some quicker little crafts to keep the crafty little witch in me alive. I found a tutorial to make this wreath and it was sooooo easy...just a lot of hot glue, but it took me about 30 minutes or so to make it...both kids were napping, and I actually wasn't tired! If you want me to re-find the tutorial for the wreath...let me know and I'll post the link. :)Welcome to our barely-decorated-for-Easter home...
...And my friend & neighbor, Crafty Jen taught me how to make these freaking cute easter eggs with fabric...aren't they fun? Jen's look better, but I'll keep practicing...I have 2 more to make!

Aunt Jemima

My friend Becky brought us a goody today...funny thing is, we were seriously going to have pancakes for dinner...(jeff took Maxer to a birthday party AND it's take your daddy to work day, because he also took him to a college baseball game to scout out a hitter...)So the girls are having pancakes for dinner (my favorite) and this is the kind of syrup that is in the cupboard! Becky says that every girl needs an aunt jemima hat! hee hee, she's already changed so much and it's only day 3... I love my little Ivy!

Then and Now

I thought it would be sorta funny to look at the pictures as I was leaving for the hospital to have Max in AZ and compare them to my 'bowl full of' from today. I guess I didn't stop to take a picture of myself just as I was leaving for the hospital...but this was then...(39 weeks with Max)...and this is now (39 weeks with Ivy) Leaving for the hospital in 1 hour... can't wait!
(note, I'm wearing the same pants...I guess these are my birthin' pants)

Craft for Day Two

Today I drove to Tustin...I repeat...I DROVE to Tustin. Woo Hoo! I didn't get lost, it was smooth sailin' the whole way! (granted, it's like 5 miles away, but it's further than the disastrous Joann's trip that I attempted to go to last week). My friend Emily told me about a quilt store there, and it's been sad that I haven't been to a cute fabric store since we've lived here. My mom LOVES fabric stores, so that was our days adventure...we went to Flying Geese, along with playing at the Beach and going to YogurtLand! Anyways, I have zero Easter Decorations, so when we saw these at Flying Geese, we decided that it was a fun little quick project, and aren't they sooo cute? Our Fat Quarter Easter Egg Pillows!
I love them on my cute little bench!

Day one with Mom!

Mom's here...woo hoo! Here's a little bit of what we did today... Feed the birds, tuppence a bag. We haven't fed the ducks since we lived in Tempe, so today we went on a duck hunt of sorts. We found two...and fed them weirdo organic crackers that Max won't eat and hot dog buns from 7-11. yum yum. Max threw a few pieces , and then macked on the rest of the bun. And while we were walking around HB Central Park, Mar Mar was so excited to find Sweet Gum Balls from the Sweet Gum Tree! She wanted to make a wreath with them, so Max helped her collect all the pokey little balls. He loved it!

Check out all of them on the ground! and in the trees!

Then we went to the park, came home, had lunch, played for a bit and put Max down for his nap: and let the festivities begin: We made Fabric Flower Corsage Pins for Easter Sunday...Ivy's blessing day. One for me, and one for each Grandma.
and I finished off Ivy's blessing shoes...they had those little pink rose buds on them, and I just replaced them with big-ums bows!

We're just filling up the time with fun things until Ivy comes!

Jelly Beans!

I was feeling bad that Ivy wasn't going to get much in her Easter Basket, compared to Maxer... not that she would notice, but still. Anyways, in the nick of time, my sister, Brandy comes to the rescue as always with this link:
Making Jelly Bean Bean Bags out of felt.
Felt is sooo cheap, and I thought it would be a fun thing for her when she's a little older... and Max will dig all the colors. Sooo I thought I'd post them on here before Easter so that anybody else that wants to make a whole treasure chest of sugarless jelly beans can get to it and have it ready for the Easter Bunny.
A little obsessive, but they're so easy, I sort of want to make more with different colors! hee hee
thanks again...as always, to Brandy for the great idea

What the devil are those?

The funny thing is, I really don't know...I wish this is what it looked like when I looked down. Unfortunately, I had to stick out my booty and look down in order to see my little piggys poking out behind this huge beast of a tummy. Lovin' the bump, but really...she can get the heck out of dodge any old time now!

Ivy Circle

A month of two ago, I spotted this street on the way to church. I've wanted to walk my little booty over there ever since, but just haven't. It didn't seem that far away--but it was a little further on foot than I imagined. My friends humored me, and along with our husbands (yep, Jeffer, too) we took a walk on the wild side of Beach to see Ivy Circle. So fun! Thought it would make a cute picture to frame in black and white some day.
Here's me and the not so little Ivy who better be gettin' ready to make her appearance dang soon...

Baby Leggings!

K, Tara...I did 'em!
Modeled by pretty little Hailey from next door, here are my completed cupcake leggings...I love them. I also did a light pink pair and a black pair with the HUGEST crown on the booty that you ever did see! So many fun things to make, and time is running out!
Thanks for the idea!

My Polka Dot Baby Shower

I had my baby shower tonight and it was soooo fun! First of all, my friends have been hard at work for the past few weeks putting all the details together, and they did such a good job. From the invitation, you can see, that they had it all covered...Polka Dots Galore...even down to the circular invitations!!! We had the classic cake and ice cream, but my clever cohorts couldn't just serve it the good ole fashioned way: so we had polka dot ice cream... otherwise known as Mochi Balls, which is some sort of Japanese Dessert that they sell at Trader Joes, which are surprisingly yummy...and hilarious to eat. A must try...especially if you ask Jeff.
...and not just plain-old un-romantic slices of cake, but yummy Cake Balls, to go with the polka dot theme that were soooo cute! (and way too yummy, too)

They planned every little thing down to covering the water bottles with zebra paper and ribbon to match. My friends are pretty stinkin' crafty, and they rub off on me, which is so fun!
When you walked in the front door...This is what you saw...Holy cute set-up, batman! Polka dot plates napkins, even!
We played a multi-taskin' momma game...which I am sad to announce, I didn't win...Dang it! Congrats, Lindsay! Where we had to talk on a cell phone, hold a baby doll and hang random articles of clothing on a clothes line whilst in the midst of a horrible storm (the clothesline was wiggling all over the place) Person to hang the most stuff in a minute won!
and so many really fun gifts! I feel so blessed to have so many talented and giving friends already in California! So many people worked so hard to make it amazing...and it was! Thanks, guys!!! I love you all!

Aquarium of the Pacific

This week our Young Women got to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific--and us leaders got to bring our kids! One of the leaders is a diver there, and she feeds the sharks, etc, so she got our whole troop in for free. Holy Cow! Max L-O-V-E-s to see fishys and sharks, so we were really excited to get to go for a few hours. Just like we did at the San Diego Wild Animal Park (which was my favorite part, by the way) we got to feed the Lorikeets...They kept them open long enough just for us to go feed them. Those birds are so awesome, and Max loved to feed them! Here are Max and his friends looking at the Sharks...they got to put their hands in the water and touch them...
(Merrick, Berkleigh, Max and Saxon)Here's Our Leader! Kim pulled a fast one on us and dove into a tank with the sharks and Guitar fish, etc...It was so fun because she was able to talk to us, with a mic in her mask and tell us about the fish in this HUGE tank. Then, the aquarium closed, and she took us behind the scenes and we were able to feed the fish and sharks that she was just swimming with. What a cool job!

Such a fun activity, thanks, Kim, for taking us all!!!

Green Eggs and Ham

Like many people in our ward, we are part of a dinner co-op, which means that each of 4 girls choose a night to cook...and we cook for all 4 families. My night is Tuesday night, which means that I was lucky enough to get St. Patrick's Day on my night! So, thanks to Everyday with Rachael Ray, we made Green Eggs and Ham for everyone for dinner. ha ha. Hers looked prettier than mine, but that's OK...it was still fun to make them! As a disclaimer...this is the note I stuck on top of the dish to take around...
Max enjoyed the washed-off ham, green scrambled eggs, and green milk in a green cup!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

This is why I'm laughing!

Check out Jeff's hair when we first started dating...hee hee, Soon after, he went dyed it black...and then came the shaved head, pretty much ever after. So, to answer everyone's question...no, he's not balding...he's got a full head of that stuff!
Get'em BYU cougs!

This is why I'm excited!

Today, my Great Aunt Bette came over so I could hem a pair of her PJs...I'm not a good hemmer, by the way.
Anyways, she got to talking about how she was going to sell her old, clunky sewing machine in a garage sale...oh, dear...
I said, 'Bette, don't sell it, I'll buy it from you, what kind is it...?'
Well, she said I could just have it, which I'm thrilled about, and you betcha I raced my little tookus over there as soon as Max woke up from his nap and took a look.
My mother-on-law has taught me that the oldies are the goodies...and are the only machines with metal parts...Well, this one's an oldy, and I'm hoping a goody. I'm going to take it over to a shop one of these days to see how much it would cost to get a tune up...and then, I'll have two machines and nothing can stop me. Cheryl, is this a diamond in the rough???
