Our friends told us about another fun activity to do so close to our house. This morning, we drove to Irvine (so close to HB) to go to The Orange County Great Park, which was an old army base, or something, that they decided to convert to a park. It's a huge project that will take years to complete, but there will be a sports complex amongst other things. The only thing at the park right now is this aMaZiNg big orange hot air balloon, which you can ride for freeeeee!
Jeff is afraid of heights, but he was willing to let me go and take Max, and he volunteered (so kind) to stay down on solid ground and hold Ivy...but, anybody can go, even little Ivy could've gone!

We waited less than an hour for our turn, and while we waited, Max ran around in a HUGE field (gotta get me one of those). Max was so excited to go, this is him watching as the balloon came back down while we waited in line.
The 'basket' is completely incased with metal bars, there's no way you could fall out, and it's a big donut (mmmmm!) that you can walk around while you're in the air.

The balloon ride reminds me of James and the Giant Peach only you are flying over the OC! You are a fun mom, Autie. When you come to the 520, not so much a vacation spot though, we'll make sure to have an adventure!
Sweet ride!
