Christmas in California

We loved being able to spend Christmas at home for the first time this year! We had so much fun, and loved being together! We would have liked to do a few more things, but it rained so much leading up to Christmas, it was too soggy to go outside...and do some of the things we wanted to do. But, regardless, this year, Christmas was special!
We were able to have our Christmas Eve Feast with our good friends, the Schumanns. Jen made the most amazing Prime Rib ever, and we all ate WAAAAAAy to much of it, no seriously. But it was soooo good, and she'd never made it before. Holy yum!
Jeff made yummy mashed potatoes to go with it...he's a really good cook, and likes to do it {awesome for me, since I'm really not that great at it}
I made something that I CAN make....rolls! they were yum!
After dinner, we listened to a "kid version" of the nativity, and it was pretty crazy-chaotic, but it was perfectly imperfect and funny to watch. Our Wise Man {ivy} was too busy macking on the birthday boy, Aaron to want to be in our little nativity rendition:
Joseph {Max} was too busy correcting the wording of our "kidded-down" version of Luke 2, making sure that Brian quoated the angel correctly with "Fear Not" instead of "don't be afraid" and other important facts.
Mary {Emily} was so tender with our baby Jesus-Doll and Marley (Emily's cousin) was a very jubilant angel...so fun!
We had such a fun night with the Schumanns!
We got home and still needed to open a few presents, and we HAD to take our token couple of pictures...for the books...our nativity:
our Christmas Eve Jammie picture:
Jeff and I got to watch Elf after the kids went to bed...it was such a great evening!
Max and Ivy must have been good this year, because Santa Claus visited our house, and delivered some really fun gifts...Max's favorite was his Geo-Trax which he hasn't stopped playing with since!
Santa even made a new doll bed for Ivy {spray-painted it metallic black, made a new mattress, pillow and quilt all by 'him'self} Ivy thought and still thinks that it's for her...
and to document for my sister who was sad that she was giving Max a present that he wouldn't really be excited to open...this is his face after he opened it... {loved it}
and then he went directly to his room and put it where he wanted it...couldn't have been more pleased. And then on top of that, when we went to Church the next time, he insisted on wearing his "future missionary" tag. {and he got a lot of compliments on it}
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!
