my 3 sweets

I had a GrEat Mother's Day morning...no craziness, so rush to get to church; we even got to take some pics of me and my 3 sweets before we left.
i just have the cutest family, and I'm soooo glad they're mine!

Some more favs from this weekend

We had a really fun weekend!  There were a lot of fun pictures, I thought I'd jumble some of my random favorites together...

Max and his friend River...

Some of Ivy's favorite girls in the world: Shelby, Sophie and Junie-B

Sophie and Ives...oh my, how I love Sophie!...I think Ivy thinks she's her big sister

We went to the Environmental Nature Center to check out the butterflies...and while the butterflies were not floating around in a flurry landing on everyone as I have seen before, we were able to see the different stages of life, and learn a little more about them...we saw the tiny, tiny eggs, and jillions of baby caterpillars...and check out how they are devouring those leaves...how fun.  We saw a bunch of chrysalis (by the way, I heard some random call it a "Chris-Alice"...really?  a cocoon would have been better...incorrect, but better.  just don't talk out loud.)

 i love this sign.

Max's first at-bat in FOREVER!

The best part about todays game:  The Doyle's surprised us with a visit!  Ivy couldn't stop jumping up and down when she saw them and ran over to them to give them a big hug.  She loves Rie and Dough.
(They're our HB family! they're our go-to babysitters, where we HAVE to trick or treat, and who we do all the mini-holidays with.  I can't imagine life in HB without them!)

Jeff and Doyle

seriously, they are so cute!

Father/Sons Campout

Were you expecting pics of Max and Jeff?  Oooh, sorry...he didn't take a camera, and while I know they had so much fun, it won't be documented!
They did bounce-house stuff, played in "the swamp" ate dinner and plaaaaaayed.  Max loves camping, and got to camp with Daddy for the first time.  (by the way dad, Jeff said he was so warm in your tent he actually liked it!  woo hoo...thanks for the loner!)
Anyway, while the cat's away, the girlie moussers will play!
Ivy and I had a mini girl party...

we painted her toes...
and read only the girlie books (no trucks or dinosaurs aloud!)
we did every wood puzzle we own...and then hi-tailed in over for a girls only movie night!
loved it!

Reminds me...

This just reminds me of a few picture series that are hanging up in Jeff's old room.  Pretty sure there's a couple BYU ones and at least 1 ASU one...and I enjoyed my rapid shutter today at Max's game...
love him!
If Max is going to throw...this is how he throws...like he's pitching in the big game.  Jeff claims I taught him that...I don't think I did!

May 2, 2011

this is my fav.

Mas has conquered the long-feared foe and is now taking showers.
umm, it's awesome.
but even though that is awesome in itself...the other awesome part is my favorite.
the thumb-sucking, hair-twirling crack that nicely, and quietly waits for her turn.

that's my fav.

Dear Grandma,

Two Interviews for you!

love max and ivy

She can't see over the dash...

...but boy, this girl can scoot!

The Dynamics of the Hunt

This was my favorite hidden egg today...best hiding job ever..
I'm serious because it was almost the last egg to be found.
matchy matchy, right under your nose kind of hiding job.  I loved it.

...but the 1 egg that we told them had $$ in it...was just out of reach and both wanted it and tried to get it so bad.  Lets just say that the person that got it, I'm glad got it...because if the roles were reversed, the attitude would have been seriously questionable.
Good Job, Em...it must have been the Jeans!

happy Easter! (we're cracking up!)

This is as good as we could get today before church...

(shocker, I made that dress!  this was my first experience making a piece of clothing from an actual pattern!  Glad it's over!)

Happy Easter to you!
And then after church, for lunch, we broke out the last of our easter eggs and cracked them on each others heads as tradition affords:

Here's what happens when Ivy cracks an Egg on Max's head:  "awww...she did it too hard!  come on!"

...and Ivy just laughs... I love Jeff's face in the background!

Earth Day

It's Earth Day!
So, today, we recycled some Plastic Grocery bags at the Disney Store and received some really fun Tangled Re-usable grocery bags instead..
.{Felt like total white trash carrying our HUGE bag of bags into the mall... yep, the one with Tiffany and Burberry and all the other crazy expensive stores...but whatever!}
we recycled 1 bag of cans and bottles (had to recycle that stuff on earth day) and for the 1 bag we got $8.34 plus a free energy efficient light bulb!
And dropped off some poo at Goodwill for others to delight in!  hee hee
So, on the way home, we quizzed...what are the 2 important reasons that WE recycle...and I will tell you what we decided:
1.) Heavenly Father made our earth, and it's our job to keep it clean and beautiful.
2.)We appreciate that we an benefit from doing our part and are saving all the money we get for our SunDevil/Cougar fund...Max is trying to decide which one already!
And, in thinking back to the rainbow cupcakes we made for St. Patty's day here, the kidlets helped me make Earth cupcakes for dessert...super fun!

We had a very fun, busy day...and we loved it!

dying is fun

Today, we finally got to dye easter eggs!
It's so fun, and I love the bright vibrant colors!
We read these two Easter books...about dying eggs.  We LOVE these two books!

 {pretend Max wrote that...hehee.  what horrible handwriting!}
the kids were such good listeners, and were so excited about doing double-dipped ones and coloring on them.  We're a little too impatient to get the fun super bright colors that I love, but one day, they'll be old enough to wait!
I can't wait for easter for our Egg Cracking tradition! (stay tuned)
{thank you Ellsworth fam!}

7 packets

of strawberries 'n cream oatmeal
at 1 breakfast.

 really?
2 for Ivy, 5 for Max
and those bowls are licked clean.
We need to buy stock...and I'm so bugged that they don't sell Strawberries 'N Cream, or even Peaches 'N Cream in bulk...the bananas and blueberry ones are not our fav!
7!
that's almost the whole box.
we need to think of some new options!

'Smeeps

Jeff has been traveling SOOO much more than previous years this baseball season.  Which is great for him!  But the kids and I have missed him!  He's been gone sort of back to back to back that he told us that Sunday he was going to totally take off...awesome!!!
So, last minute we decided to invite a few of our neighbors over for a 'Smeep party.
('Smeeps are all over blog land, and I've been dying to try them!)
Don't know what a 'smeep is?  don't worry...
'Smores
+

Peeps

=
'Smeeps!
hilarious, right??!?
I know...I've been dying!

I did feel a little rotten poking a stick through the little cuties...

but...

I think they were pretty much a hit with everybody!

(ok, Ivy just liked the peeps...)

The Little Mousser, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the BIG hungry bear

Yesterday, Max and Ivy found this:

Our first strawberry of the season...
So, we hurried inside, and read this:

After trying many ways to hide our delicious red, ripe strawberry such as burying it, or chaining it up, we decided that the best way to keep it from the BIG hungry bear was for us to do this:

...and enjoy it ourselves...

...here's to many more of those this summer!
